The Promised one and the end of time in Zarathustra religion
Discussion regarding the Zoroastrian promised one has structural differences with other major religions because contrary to other religions, whose followers expect the redeemer, Zoroastrians believe that three future sons of Zarathustra which are recognized with the common name of Saoshyant are the promised redeemers. Each one of them will appear at the start of a millennium respectively. In this article, we will discuss the issue of the end of time in the Zoroastrian predictive literature after introducing and reviewing the qualities and characteristics of each of these three redeemers each of whom according to the Zoroastrian traditions will be born in the end of time with a gap of 1000 years. In the beginning we will discuss the things which have been discussed in narrations regarding the appearance of these Promised ones according to the Zoroastrian holy text “Saoshyant and the end of time”. After that will we will discuss in detail the “world and its circumstances after the emergence of the redeemers” by quoting narrations and evidences.
Saoshyant and cosmic year
Before discussing the issue of three Redeemers it is necessary that we go through the concept of universal cycles or cosmic year in Zoroastrian religion because the legend of emergence of these three Redeemers has been discussed under this concept. Although we should remember that the Zoroastrian texts do not have consensus on how many millenniums a cosmic year consists. Some say nine millenniums and some consider this period equal to 12 millenniums in relation with 12 months of a natural year and 12 constellations. Evidence also point towards that the real digit was 6000 years and it has increased to 900 and 12000 gradually.
Emile Benverniste writes that: 9000 years is the belief of zervanians and 12000 is the Mazdaism’s belief. Though Nyberg believes that the live of the world according to zervanians is 12000 years and according to Mazdaism is 9000 years. Despite all this, complete cosmic year as it is stated in the first chapter of Bundahisn is 12000 years which itself divides into 4 periods or 4 episodes of 3 millenniums.
In first three millenniums, Ahura Mazda created the interactive universe or spiritual world which was the minoo period of the world. In the second three millenniums, physical world was created from the forms of the spiritual world. In this period the matters of ther world and life of the people were free from any harm and therefore it is named as the golden period of the Mazdaism history. The third millennium is the monarchy period of the kings, human creation and revolt and dominance of the Demon. Zarathustra was born exactly at the start of the first millennium of the fourth period.
According to the Zoroastrian traditions and eleventh yasht, three sons of Zarathustra will be born who will be called with the common name of Saoshyant. This name has been specified for the last promised one and he will be the last creation of the Ahura Mazda. The word Saoshyant is driven from the word “سو” which means beneficial. It has come in Avesta as yantsSao and in Pahlavi it has come in different forms such as Saoshyant, saoshyans, saoshans, saohyous or soyoshant. It has come in the 29th phrase of Yasht’s April:
He is called Saoshyant because he will benefit the entire material world
This word has been used several times in Gatas for Zarathustra himself and he has called his Prophet as Saoshyant, means the one from whose existence benefit originates and who provides profit. Similarly, this word has come several times in the rhymes as plural and has introduced Zarathustra and his companions as benefit providers. In all the parts of avesta Saoshyants has also come plural and it means leaders and inheritors of Zarathustra who strive for the propagation of the religion and guide people towards the straight path. In a part of the Yasna which has been referred to as praise of the good ones it has come:
We praise all the good holy angels from Qumars till Saoshyant.
The same topic has been repeated in the other part of the Yasna. In the Yasnas , Saoshyants has been remembered as the refresher of the world and those who are not born yet. In the first chapter and seventh verse of the avesta-farvardin it has been stated:
Oh spentas, ancient religious angels and those angel-mans who have not born yet and will be the renewer of the world in future are powerful than the angels of all people.
Pahlavi Vendidad has reported Saoshyant as Sutaumand however most of the matter regarding Saoshyants has come in the thirteenth and especially the nineteenth yasht. In the 19th yasht in 94th phrase and onward, regarding the appearance of Saoshyant in the end of time, renewal of the universe and perishing of the world it is stated:
He sees with the eyes of intellect. He will look at all the creations of him, all the things having evil cast, he will see the entire material world with affection and his look will perish the entire world.
Companions of Saoshyant will become victors. They will have good character, good speech and good religion and will never tell lies. The fury of harsh weapon disappears in front of them. The truth will conquer the dark evil lie.
The evil character will lose and the good character will prevail. Lie will lose and truth will prevail. khordad and amardad both will defeat the hunger and thirst. khordad and amardad will defeat evil hunger and thirst. The weak demon will run away.
According to the Pahlavi traditions the sperm of Zarathustra exists in the lake hamun. In the last millennium of this world three girls will became pregnant with this sperm and will give birth to the three Mazdaic promised ones. In the 62nd phrase of the 13th yasht it is stated:
We praise the powerful holy angels because 99999 angels are protecting the sperm of the holy Zarathustra.
However the 128th and 129th phrases of the 13th yasht are interesting and important. In the 128th phrase in total 9 devotees have been remembered and praised 6 of which are the companions of Saoshyant and other three are the future promised ones.
According to the writings of the Pahlavi book “دادستان دینیک”, at the time of the appearance of Saoshyant in the end of time, the resurrection of dead will take 57 years. In this period the Saoshyant will be the ruler of the central country mean the “khoneris” and his six companions will also be the rulers in six different countries. They will always obey and act upon the orders of the Saoshyant during their rule though this rule should be considered as a spiritual one.
In the 128th phrase of the 13th yasht after mention of the six eternal ones three other devotees have been named and their fervashi has been praised. Actually they are the same three future sons of the Zarathustra or promised redeemers who will appear in the last millennium of the world with the gap of thousand years from each other. These three are:
- uxshyat ereta means the nurturer of divine law. Nowadays this name is called “osheider” or “hosheider” and in Pahlavi books it has come in the form of “khorsheidter” or osheidter. Sometimes the word “bami has been added to that and it is said “hosheider bami” which means enlightened hosheider.
- uxshyat-nameh means the nurturer of prayers and supplication and nowadays he is called “osheidermah” or “hosheidermah” but in the Pahlavi books he is referred to as “Khorseidmah” or “osheitermah”. Prof. Pur-Dawud writes:
Actually he should be called “Oheidernamaz” since “mimangah” means prayers.
- ustavat ereta means one who is the symbol and model of the divine law. In the avesta itself literal meanings of this word has been intended such as in the 129th phrase of the 13th yasht:
Someone who will be named Saoshyant the conqueror and ustavat ereta he will be named Saoshyant because he will benefit the whole material world and ustavat ereta because he has such body and spirit that he will be an eternal model for the resistance against the human lie and in the war which will be started by religious ones.
ustavat ereta means the same Saoshyant, the third and last promised one in the mazdaism. Whenever Saoshyant has come singular in avesta it intends ustavat ereta, such as nowadays when we say Saoshyant generally we intend the same last redeemer and promised one. For example the phrase of avesta which was quoted above in which from the first angel Gayōmart till the Saoshyant are saluted or in the other part of avesta which goes like this: “we salute the Saoshyant the conqueror” and similarly in the “whispered” that person is saluted who is based on Saoshyant’s words from the light of which the world of truth emerges. No doubt in the above parts the personality intended by the word ‘Saoshyant’ is the same ustavat ereta or the last promised one.
The end of time in the Zoroastrian predictive literature
As we have pointed in the first section according to Zoroastrian worldview the age of the world, its beginning and end takes place in a limited period of 12000 years which itself is divided into 4 periods. The first period is the period of Minoo creation in which Amesha Spenta, Deities and angels are created. In the second period this divine creation adopts material form but there is no movement in these creations. The third period which starts with the seventh millennium is the mixing period of good and evil, light and darkness and generally it is the mixing of the will of every person with demon’s will. In the beginning of this period, demons comes to the border of light from the darkness and sees the creatures of the light the Hormazd and decides to fight him and destroy his creatures and therefore attacks his creatures and fights each one of them and spoils the material world. In this period, which is called as the nsizegum period, at time the Hormazd is dominant and at times the demon. The last period begins with the appearance of Zarathustra. This millennium is the tenth after the material creation and seventh after the motionless creation. In the fourth millennium also called seventh and tenth millennium, practice of religion will get common and Zarathustra has the support of Goshtasb also.
After Zarathustra his three future sons who are the redeemers of the end of time in the Mazdaism and are commonly named as “Saoshyant” will appear one by one respectively, hosheider at the start of eleventh millennium, hosheidermah at the start of twelfth millennium and Saoshyant at the end of the twelfth one. They will come to carry on the way of Zarathustra, remove the obstacles from religion, to make world free of destruction and immorality, redeem the people and resurrect the dead:
In these three millennium hosheider, hosheidermah amd Saoshyant who will arrive at the start of each millennium separately will renew all the matters of the world and will punish the idol worshippers and traitors in the country. At that time that evil doer (Demon) would have become so strong that it would not be possible to resurrect.
According to the Pahlavi text as we have discussed before, at the end of every millennium of the last period of world,one of the sons of Zarathustra will appear as a redeemer for helping the religion and defeating the demon and his companions. Just beore the appearance of the first redeemer hosheider, two other redeemers who are immortal and eternal according to Zoroastrian texts will stage an uprising to prepare the ground for the appearance of hosheider. One of these two is Behram verchavand and other is pishyotun. According to existing texts each one has a specific role and task and will eradicate all the chaos and disturbance within the mazdaists.
At that point…. A person will come from the Kabul and he is called Behram. All the people will accept him and he will rule Rome, India,Turkey and all over. He will eradicate all evil doers and establish the Zoroastrian religion. No one will find another religion. Peshotanu will arrive in the same land from fort Kong. He, accompanied by 150 religious people, will unroot the temple which was his birthplace and will replace it with the fire of Behram. He will correct the entire religion and establish it.
In the end of the twelfth millennium and just before the appearance of hosheider, Peshotanu, son of King Gahstasb, who himself is one of the immortals and redeemers, will upraise to propagate, rebuild and establish religious values and will lead the believers. He will come out from the fort Kong with 150 selected students, wearing black sable clothers, and will defeat all the powers of the demon and will purify the world from all immoralities. According to Zoroastrian references twenty sixth of March will be the day of his uprising:
In the month of Ferverdeen and on the day of Khordad, Behram will appear from Khuzestan. On the day of Khordad of the month of Ferverdin peshotanu will come from fort Kong towards Iran city and will execute the Mazdaism.
According to Pahlavi texts, some signs are predicted for the appearance of Behram . Most of them are like the incidents which have been discussed at the start of every millennium. In Pahlavi poetry, he has been praised like this:
That master behram will come from the descendents of Kian
We bring ……………………………..
Also we demolish their mosques and replace then with fires
We unroot the temples and purify the world
So that lies and their relatives may disappear from this world
In the story of jamasp, page 88 some signs of appearance are discussed.
Due to the prediction and good news made about appearance of Behram in different religious sources, Iranian Zoroastrians always waited for the appearance and his uprising in the 10th century which in real is the last century of the millennium since according to the predictions appearance of the behram is in India in end of the millennium. Zoroastrians wrote several letters to their religious fellows in India to inquire about his appearance and upraising of Behram. Some of these questions and answers have been quoted in the book “روایات داراب ھرمزدیار”:
“The question is that when will behram come? Its answer is that he will come at the place between India and china, they have asked about the sign of his birth, thing which the religion has explained is the raining of stars. What is known to me is 903 stars. Though, the god is the real knower.
We all wait for the arrival of behram eagerly who is called with a specific name by every group. The almighty knows when he will appear, however few signs have been narrated and some of them have taken place. We hope that he will appear very shortly.
Saoshyant and signs of the end of time
According to religious traditions Saoshyant will be born 58 years before Frashokeret.
In zadisparam we read regarding the appearance, time and signs of resurrection:
“Saoshyant will be born to complete the mission of Zarathustra 58 years before Frashokeret. It is known that Zarathustra met hormazd at the age of 30 and accepted the religion and propagated it. And in the period of 57 years the religion graduallyreached to seven countries. Because the religion got established, lie got underground and gradually powers of demons got useless. Till the last messenger that is Saoshyant will appear in the world through the guidance of demon, will meet the divine ones at the same age of 30. Frashokeret will be established in the period of 57 years through prevalence of the religion all over seven countries. With the complete dominance of the religion demon will be eradicated from among the creations. It has been 6000 countable years without leap years that the demon has come towards the creation Every year, the first day of Farvardin is called Ormazd then it has to be updated again in Farvardin; and after six thousand years, four leap years remain since a leap day has not been added every four years and it is four years in six thousand years.
At that time the sign of resurrection will become clear and sky will shake, the route of sun, moon and stars will change and all will get united. All the inhabitants will also change just like seas and skies. The springs of fire will come out of the earth in many places just like springs of water, since all the things which the demon created will be ended with fire because water has the nature which is enlightening and nourishing but fire is burning and preventing.”
Great burning fires will grip the earth to purify from all cretures created by demons, to prepare world for the last revolution through the promised redeemer as many water springs will change into springs of fire. Similarly, according to the above text happening of universal and heavenly revolutions such as change in the route of sun, moon and the stars is also one of the signs of resurrection which has been pointed towards in other Pahlavi texts as well. For example it has been stated in “Zand-i wahman yasn” that at the time of the appearance of every Zoroastrian redeemer sun will stop in the sky for 10 days at the time of Hosheider, 20 days at the time of hosheidermah and 30 days at the time of the Saoshyant. The story of Jamasp considers the stoping of sun in the sky as one of the miracles of hosheider. At its happening the people of the world will accept the true religion:
A group of people will ask him for a miracle, he will pray and sun will stop in the sky for 10 days, they will lift their heads up and by seeing that miracle will enter the true religion. Hence the sun will go and great turaaq will come, where the sun is and everyone whose heart is not with the god his star will tear away and this world will get purified from evil doers.
According to another tradition which has been stated in the Denkard when the Demon will realize that his time is ending he will strive to stop the sun which is the counter of days and years so that the day of return does not come.
In addition to the standing of sun in the sky, miraculous changes will take place in the sky and the material world which itself will cause some fundamental changes in the material world. We may point towards the sun and moon becoming colorless, years, months and days becoming shorter, great earthquakes and unusual rains:
The sun will show a terrible sign and moon will lose its color and the world will become full of darkness, gloominess and dimness. Different signs will take place in the sky and earth will see great number of earth quakes and strong breeze and larger amount of need, difficulty and hardship will occur in the world…
At that time large amount of cold and hot breezes will flow and the order of seasons will get disturbed, clouds will appear on the sky without any rain and animals will come down from them in place of water drops.
Dark clouds and stiff breeze will not rain at their time. Dark clouds will make the sky dark just like night. Cold and hot breeze will flow and will take away the seeds. Rain will also not come down at its time and most of the time they (clouds) will rain animals instead of water. Water of the lakes and rivers will become lesser and it will not increase.
At that time evil stars will get free and concequently chaos and disturbance will increase and will grip the entire world:
The signs of sky will appear which means that evil stars will get free.
Everywhere you look the earth and the time is full of different misfortunes, calamities, shortages, needs and in general all those accidents that result in the destruction and ruining of human life and other creations.
In that despicable period all the people are untrue and hypocrite just like their rulers and demon has penetrated in all of them and has steered them towards hardship and sins.
No one will respect the food and bread and people’s love towards each other will become lesser:
Those who will be born in that time will have low strength, they will be more suspicious and untrue and have lesser affection and will not respect bread and salt. When they find evil thinker, a nonreligious and fault person they will make him their friend.
Killing a hen will become equal to killing a human. Good deeds are done by the people in less numbers. Foolish persons will become rulers and respectful and intellectuals will be considered cheap and devalued.
Oh the Zoroastrian followers, in that astonishing time those who have belt on their backs will not have pleasant life because of the disaffection and misrule and wrong judgment and they will wish for death.
In that lawless world religion, religiousness and clerics who are considered as protectors of divine laws and claim to be the guardian of ritual, traditions and religious teaching will become so much immoral and corrupt that religious person and clerics will be the most sinful persons among the people. They will commit three of five sins. They will not offer their religious responsibilities without any excuse and will not fear hellfire. They will backbite and make fun of each other and because of it people will not trust on their sayings and actions and will prefer the verdict of liars and hypocrites over them.
At that time only one person out of 1000 or 10000 people will accept religion and he also will not practice it. As a result of that, religion will totally become weak and fragile and corruption, destruction, immorality, prostitution, slavery, lie and death will grip the entire world.
All will bury the purpose of the universe at that time and prostitution, slavery and intercourse with menstruating women will become a common trend, learned one will be hidden and death, cholera and need will increase in the world. Destruction, non religiousness will become dominant.
World and its situation after the appearance of redeemers
As we have said in the beginning, each of the three Zoroastrian redeemers hosheider, hosheidermah, Saoshyant, which are considered as three sons of Zarathustra, will appear in three millenniums so that they correct the deficit of this world and people. In Zoroastrian traditions and text the birth of each one of the redeemer, their qualities and the situation of that time has been discussed relatively in detail. Summary of those discussions according to the three books Bundahishn, Denkard and Pahlavi traditions is mentioned below:
According to the traditions Zarathustra had intercourse with his wife Hawoo three times and his sperms fell on ground. The hryosing god took the light and power of that sperm and gave it to Anahita to safeguard it so that three ladies shall become pregnant with this sperm and give birth to three Zoroastrian redeemers in the last millennium. For protecting this sperm 99999 holy angels have been posted. These sperms have been protected in the river of plain and they say that they glow like three lamps in the middle of the river.
- Period of hosheider
30 years before the end of the tenth century of the fourth millennium the millennium of Zarathustra. A 15 year girl with the name of nameeg pad will go and sit in the river and drink its water. The sperm of Zarathustra will make her pregnant and she will give birth to hosheider. This is the same sperm which was entered by the Zarathustra third time in the hawoo. That girl will not have an intercourse with any man before or after it till hosheider is given birth:
Then 30 winters of that tenth century will have not passed a girl who is manee pad the mother of that hosheider will go towards that water and sit in it and drink from it and that sperm comes up which is third from end that Zarathustra entered in to hivoo and a son was given birth that has a great level of piety. Despite the fact that she wil be 15 years old but she wouldn’t have slept with any man before that till the birth of hosheider.
That time the country is gripped by anarchy and disturbance. With birth of Hosheider a man with a black flag will apprise in the Khorasan who will exile the Patishkhwāgars and will fill the country of Iran with anarchy and disturbance and will rule horribly for some years. After him Heon and Turks will attack Iran and will rule for some years with destruction and disaster till a person arises from Kabul or India and will take the matters in his hands whose name is Kay Behram.
Peshotanu will do uprising after Kay Behram. or according to another narration Peshotanu will rise one year before him from fort kang and will spread the mazdaism. During all this hosheider will become 30 years old and with the start of his millennium sun will stop for ten days at the peak of the sky at the point where it was created at the start of creation. Thus, believer will come to know that the millennium of Zarathustra has come to an end and it will become clear on all the non believers and all of the people that an unusual phenomenon has taken place.
In the Same period Hosheider will sit with hormazd to talk and the very next day will be a rainy and clear day. After this meeting Hosheider will execute the same responsibilities which were given to his father Zarathustra. He will take the responsibility of purifying the religion according to hadmansary. He will spread the creation of hormozd, purify the world from evils and will destroy evildoers. Love and affection will replace enmity and hatred in his millennium and dryness and drought will become lesser. Humans will live with great peace and luxury under his affection. Evil will be lesser and good deeds will increase. The light of religion will gloom instead of darkness of polytheism.
Extraordinary events will take place in the period of hoseider, some of them are: Stoppage of sun and Mithras for 10 days and nights at the peak of the sky, plants which are not utilized will not dry for three years or there will be continuous spring for plants according to the narration of Denkard, casualties of different predators and wild animals and vanishing of different types of wolves.
When 300 days pass in the age of Hooshidar (the first promised one), all cattle and animals die.
Wolf can’t be found in his time.
The different types of wolves shall combine at one place and a single wolf will come into being by their combination with height of 433 and width of 415 steps. People will try to eliminate this animal through prayers by the order of Hosheider but they could not do anything with the prayers. Finally they will align their troops and will get rid of this animal with the help of camels, knife, wand, sword, lance and other weapons. The poison of that animal will burn the land and plants within a few miles. An evildoer woman will come out of that black body and will go towards snake and will be its successor and due to this her wickedness and tyranny will become lesser. In other words, several types of snakes will praise mazdaism.
Extremism of the beast will become low and moderation will become strong, he will suppress the mazans who are from the race of demons.
Surprisingly in the time hosheider ….extremes will vanish and moderation will prevail….and suppression of mazans.
One of the astonishing events of the time of Hosheider is the arrival of Malakos beast. He is a 4 to 7 years wizard and is the sibling of the Zarathustra killer Tur bradrosh, he will appear in the fourth of fifth century or at the end of the Hosheider’s millennium according to a narration. He will invent cold and rain with his spell. The clerics and religious person will advice people to store their edibles and the needs. However, contrary to the prediction and the expectation, rain will not come down in that year and also in the second and third year. The fourth year people having weak faiths will reckon the advice of religious persons as silly and fake and will say: Just as the past years this year also there will be no rain and what we have stored until now is sufficient for 10 years. They will not do farming and storing that year. However, it will rain that year. The first year the rain will interrupt three times in the summer and the winter, two times in the summer and the winter of second year and one time in the summer and winter of the first year. In month of Khoradad of the fourth year snow will start coming down on the day of ‘Day beh Mehr’ till the same day of the month of Day. Due to these four years troubles most of the people and goats will die. Goats will become so much rare that if one sees the foot print of a goat he will get astonished. Finally this beast will die in the fourth winter due to the curse of the Zoroastrians. Then the people and animals will come out from Verejamkurd and will stay at different places and their race will flourish. This race will be better and improved with respect to the body and physical appearance because that beast will not be able to kill them. Goats will also be better physically and will produce lot of milk. This abundance of milk will result in the increase of human beings.
Wild animals of Mountains and plains will get secured and it will be thought that humans consider them as their children therefore they will visit them frequently. The ordibehisht god who is the protector of livestock will call the people that “don’t kill livestock as in the past because their race is dying”. Wild animals of mountains and plains will come to humans when they become old and will show their interest in getting killed so that they are saved from the bite of snake.
After the end of the fifth century of this millennium two third of the people of the world will be pious and one third will be evildoers.
(He) Also says this when the fifth century has passed…. Two third of the Iran wil be pious and one third will be evildoers.
According to the traditions the period of hosheidr will be of 150 years and in this period and other millenniums fatal disasters will occur such as drought, black snow, red hail and several wars and bloodsheds.
Hosheider will live 150 years and his millennium will be 500 years
The period of Hosheidrmah
Thirty years before the end of hosheider’s millennium, a girl with the name of wahpad who is a sibling of Zarathustra will go towards the kyanse river and drink some water while sitting there and the sperm of Zarathustra will enter in her body and as a result hosheider mah will be born:
When 30 winters of that tenth century will not have passed away a bondwoman whose name is wahpad will go towards the water… then she will sit in that water and drink from it and that sperm will go with that water which the pious Zarathustra entered in hovo before the last time and that son will be created with it and his name is بالندہ نیایش because he will increase the رادی , that bondwomen will be 15 years of ager but still she would have not slept with men before that and will not do that after that.
Hosheider mah just like hosheifder will go to meet Hormozd at the age of 30 and as a sign of this meeting sun will standstill at the peak of the sky for 20 days and nights. With the happening of this event believers will understand that the millennium of hosheider has ended and non believers will also see some changes in the sky. The very next day will be clear and rainy.
The main events of the period of Hosheider mah are:
Stoppage of sun for 20 days and nights in the sky, unutilized plants not becoming dry for 6 years, increase in the milk production of goats and livestock such that a milk of one cow will be sufficient for 1000 people. Weakening of the hunger and thirst such that people will get satiated from one time food for 30 days and nights:
Unusual work of hosheidrmah is the control of hunger and thirst such that it is said that people will be satiated for 30 days from one time food.
Senility, anger, hatred, need, sexual desire will be extenuated and peace, harmony, serenity and calmness will increase.
Extenuation of senility and increment of life, independence and peace with serenity and calmness.
All the religions and laws accept mazdaism will be abandoned and all the people will start believing in the prophet hood of Zarathustra and mission of his promised ones:
And all the people have the religion of Mazdaism and will accept the prophet hood of Zarathustra, hosheider and hosheider mah. All the other religions will be abandoned and anger, hatred, drought and lust will be extenuated and people will be in ease and comfort.
When 10 years of the last millennium are passed away, Zoroastrians will have lesser need of food and clothes and their friendship with goats will get strengthen. In the last millennium no one will die until or unless he is killed by weapon or senility. 53 years before the end of this millennium milk production will get so much higher that the people being needless will stop eating meat and their food will be milk and plants. 30 years before the end of the millennium drinking of milk will also get abandoned and they will only eat and drink from plants:
When 53 years remain in that millennium, extract and fat which exist in the milk and plants will become so much abundant that people will stop to eat the meat and their food will be milk and plant. Due to those supplications that snake will get molten and the poison which will come out of his mouth will burn the earth and its plants till 1 mile. Hence an evildoer woman will come out of that beast in the shape of a housefly or a cloud and will combine in the دروجی which are made up of the sperms and races of the humans. Therefore, her harm will become lesser.
Zahakis who has been jailed in the Damavand mountain will get free from the prison at the end of Hosheider’s period and will again rule over the people from the start and will order that everyone who does not spoils plants, water and fire should be brought in front of him so that he chews them. Hence fire, water and plant will complain in front of Hormozd and will ask them to awake فریدون so that he kills Zahakis, otherwise they will not stay on the earth. Hormozd will go towards Fereidoon with Amesha Spenta and will say to him: “rise up and kill Zahakis” fereidoon will say:”I cannot go towards Garshasp.” Hormozd will go with Amesha Spenta towards the Garshap so that he awakes him. Hormozd will order sorosh and نریوسنگ : “Move the body of Garshasp so that he get awake.” They will call three times but he will not get awake, but he will get awake the fourth time and will leave to fight Zahakis. He will strike a winning wand on his head and kill him. This winning is on the sixth day of the month of ferverdeen.
The month of ferverdeen on the day of khordad he will kill the snake and will become the ruler of seven countries till the time tzar comes..”
Zahakis will be alive in this period till he eats one fourth of the goats and demolish water and fire. However with his death disturbance and anarchy and tyranny will also leave the world and especially Iran.
The period of Saoshyant
With 30 years remaining till the end of Hosheidermah’s millennium, 15 year old girl whose name is “gawak pid” and is the sibling of Zarathustra will go towards the river of Kyanaseh and drink the water from it while sitting. This girl who would have never done an intercourse with a man will become pregnant from the sperm of Zarathustra and will give birth to Saoshyant. He is the last redeemer who will come in this world so that he purifies the world from impurity and immorality. Saoshyant is enlightened just like the sun. Mazdaism will get completed and established with his emergence. He will look in all directions with the one-sixth eye and will find the solution of the pain originated from دروج. His period is only of 57 years. He will also meet Hormazd at the age of 30 and will talk with them. As a sign of this meeting sun will stay for 30 day at the peak of sky just like as it was at the start of creation and people will understand that once again they are facing an extra ordinary event:
“When he will age 30, he will go to meet hormazd and sun will stay for 30 days in the sky and will not set so that people know that once again an unusual event will occur.”
On the return from this conversation, tzar will come to welcome Saoshyant riding a وای درنگ خدای and will talk about his honors such as demolishing a temple near chichest and killing Turanian afrasiab. Saoshyant will praise him and will ask him to praise the religion. Kai will praise the religion. For all the period of 57 years the time of Saoshyant Kai will be the ruler of seven countries and Saoshyant will be the priest of the priests.

Saoshyant is also chosen one just as Zarathustra was and therefore he is made responsible to complete the missions which have been started by Zarathustra. During his millennium all the matters will be managed according to the teachings of Gathas. He is beneficial and will benefit the entire material world and provide ease to all the living people.

According to traditions a year in the period of Saoshyant has 365 complete days and does not have intercalary.
In his period toos will go to Garshasb and will ask him to practice yasht and leave the wand, otherwise he will kill him. Garshasb gets feared and accepts the religion.
After that no living person will die. All the people will accept mazdaism and will live with love and affection. Before the resurrection Saoshyant will arrange a troop to fight the demon of heresy, they will recite yasht and the demon will run up and down on the earth and finally will go in a hole and Amesha Spenta who is the protector of metals in the material world will pour down melted metal in this hole and trap him. At the end this demon will go to the deepest level of the hell.
After punishing the evildoers Saoshyant, will perform the prayers five times and every time one fifth of the demons will be destroyed and thus all the demons will be destroyed and only the demon of Az and the evil spirit will survive. God of sorosh will rise up to counter demon of az and will throw the hormozd demon out of the sky from the same hole from where it had come at the start of the creation with all his inequity i.e. darkness and evil and will close his chapter forever such that it cannot return again.
The period of 57 years in the Saoshyant’s millennium is the period of the development and perfection of hormazdic creations. All the demons from the two legged and four legged generation will be destroyed and all the evil and lie will wipe off. Illness, senility, death, torture, tyranny, heresy and all the evils will be wiped off and all the people will become submissive and religious and will live through happiness and joy with each other. Plants will always grow and will be evergreen. Among his 57 years, the food of the people is plants for 17 years, water for 30 years and the last 10 years it is the divine one:
It is also said that in his 57 years period there is destruction of two legged demons and illness, senility, death, pain and all the evil and tyranny. Plants will always be green and all the creation will be happy. For 17 years the food are plants, 30 years it is water and for 10 years it is divine.
