Imam Mahdi’s Duʿā for the month of Rajab
Sheikh al-Ṭūsi has related that this Du’a which is recited on each day of the month of Rajab, has been delivered by the second special deputy of Imam Mahdi, Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn ʿUthmān ibn Saʿīd from the side of the Imam.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
O Allah, I implore You in the name of the meanings of all the names by which You are prayed by Your representatives,
اَللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أسْالُكَ بِمَعَانِي جَمِيعِ مَا يَدْعُوكَ بِهِ وُلاةُ أمْرِكَ
the trustees with Your secret,
ٱلْمَأمُونُونَ عَلَىٰ سِرِّكَ
the conveyers of Your affairs,
ٱلْمُسْتَبْشِرُونَ بأمْرِكَ
the describers of Your power,
ٱلوَاصِفُونَ لِقُدْرَتِكَ
and the announcers of Your greatness.
ٱلْمُعْلِنُونَ لِعَظَمَتِكَ
I implore You by Your will that has manifested itself through them
أسْألُكَ بِمَا نَطَقَ فِيهِمْ مِنْ مَشِيئَتِكَ
and thus You have made them the essences of Your Words,
فَجَعَلْتَهُمْ مَعَادِنَ لِكَلِمَاتِكَ
the indications to Your Oneness,
و أرْكَاناً لِتَوْحِيدِكَ
the signs leading to You, and Your Standings that are non-stop
وَآيَاتِكَ وَمَقَامَاتِكَ الَّتِي لا تَعْطِيلَ لَهَا
in each place where those who recognize You could only recognize You through them.
فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ يَعْرِفُكَ بِهَا مَنْ عَرَفَكَ
No difference between You and them save that they are Your servants and creatures.
لا فَرْقَ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهَا إِلاَّ أنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَخَلْقُكَ
The opening and the closing of all things are in Your hand alone.
فَتْقُهَا وَرَتْقُهَا بِيَدِكَ
The inauguration and the conclusion of all things belong to You alone.
بَدْؤُهَا مِنْكَ وَعَوْدُهَا إلَيْكَ
(They are thus only) supporters, witnesses,
أعْضَادٌ وَ أشْهَادٌ
wishing (Your mercy), protecting (Your religion),
وَ مُنَاةٌ وَ أذْوَادٌ
saving (Your laws), and pioneers (to the obedience to You).
وَ حَفَظَةٌ و َرُوَّادٌ
With them have You filled Your heavens and earth
فَبِهِمْ مَلَأتَ سَمَاءَكَ وَ أرْضَكَ
until it has become obvious that there is no god save You.
حَتَّىٰ ظَهَرَ أنْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أنْتَ
I thus implore You in the name of all this,
فَبِذٰلِكَ أسْألُكَ
in the name of the sites of dignity in Your mercy,
وَ بِمَوَاقِعِ ٱلْعِزِّ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
in the name of Your standings and Signs,
وَ بِمَقَامَاتِكَ وَعَلامَاتِكَ
to send blessings to Mu�ammad and his Household
أنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
and increase my faith and firmness.
وَ أنْ تَزِيدَنِي إِيـمَاناً وَتَثْبِيتاً
O He Who is Immanent in His Evidence!
يَا بَاطِناً فِي ظُهُورِهِ
O He Who is Evident in His Immanence and in His hiddenness!
وَ ظَاهِراً فِي بُطُونِهِ وَمَكْنُونِهِ
O He Who sets apart light from murk!
يَا مُفَرِّقاً بَيْنَ ٱلنُّورِ وَ ٱلدَّيجُورِ
O He Whom is described without recognition of his real essence!
يَا مَوْصُوفاً بِغَيْرِ كُنْهٍ
and He Whom is recognized without having anything like Him!
وَ مَعْرُوفاً بِغَيْرِ شِبْهٍ
O Edger of all edged things!
حَادَّ كُلِّ مَحْدُودٍ
O Witness of all done things!
وَ شَاهِدَ كُلِّ مَشْهُودٍ
O Bringer into being all existent things!
وَ مُوجِدَ كُلِّ مَوْجُودٍ
O Knower of the number of all countable things!
وَ مُحْصِيَ كُلِّ مَعْدُودٍ
O Knower of the place of all lost things!
وَ فَاقِدَ كُلِّ مَفْقُودٍ
None is worshipped except You.
لَيْسَ دُونَكَ مِنْ مَعْبُودٍ
You are the worthiest of all pride and magnanimity.
أهْلَ ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَ ٱلْجُودِ.
O He about Whom, it is infeasible to as “how?”
يَا مَنْ لا يُكَيَّفُ بِكَيْفٍ
and it is infeasible to ask “where”!
وَ لاَ يُؤَيَّنُ بِأيْنٍ
O He Who is concealed from all sights!
يَا مُحْتَجِباً عَنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ
O Everlasting, O Self-Subsistent, O Knower of all known things!
يَا دَيْمُومُ يَا قَيُّومُ وَ عَالِمَ كُلِّ مَعْلُومٍ
(Please do) send blessings to Mu�ammad, his Household, Your selected servants,
صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ ٱلْمُنْتَجَبِينَ
Your concealed human beings,
وَ بَشَرِكَ ٱلْمُحْتَجِبِينَ
Your favorite angels,
وَ مَلائِكَتِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
and the Angels who draw themselves out in ranks and who throng (round the Divine Throne),
وَ ٱلْبُهْمِ ٱلصَّافِّينَ ٱلْحَافِّينَ
and bless us in this month- the honored and dignified-
وَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي شَهْرِنَا هٰذَا ٱلْمُرَجَّبِ ٱلْمُكَرَّمِ
as well as the next sacred months,
وَمَا بَعْدَهُ مِنَ ٱلأشْهُرِ ٱلْحُرُمِ
pour upon us Your graces in this month,
وَ أسْبِغْ عَلَيْنَا فِيهِ ٱلنِّعَمَ
grant us abundant shares of blessings,
وَ أجْزِلْ لَنَا فِيهِ ٱلْقِسَمَ
admit our requests,
وَ أبْرِرْ لَنَا فِيهِ ٱلْقَسَمَ
in the name of Your Name, the Greatest, the Greatest, the Loftiest, the Most Honored
بِٱسْمِكَ ٱلأعْظَمِ ٱلأعْظَمِ ٱلأجَلِّ ٱلأكْرَمِ
that You put on daylight and it thus lit up
ٱلَّذِي وَضَعْتَهُ عَلَىٰ ٱلنَّهَارِ فَأضَاءَ
and You put on night and it thus darkened,
وَ عَلَىٰ ٱللَّيْلِ فَأظْلَمَ
forgive us all that which You know about us and all that which we do not know,
وَ ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا مَا تَعْلَمُ مِنَّا وَ مَا لا نَعْلَمُ
protect us against sins with the best of protection,
وَ ٱعْصِمْنَا مِنَ ٱلذُّنُوبِ خَيْرَ ٱلْعِصَمِ
save us against the acts that You predetermine,
وَ ٱكْفِنَا كَوَافِيَ قَدَرِكَ
bestow upon us with Your superb looking,
و َٱمْنُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِحُسْنِ نَظَرِكَ
do not leave us in the hands of anyone other than You,
وَ لاَ تَكِلْنَا إلَىٰ غَيْرِكَ
do not prevent us from Your goodness,
وَ لاَ تَمْنَعْنَا مِنْ خَيْرِكَ
bless us during the age that You have decided for us,
وَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيمَا كَتَبْتَهُ لَنَا مِنْ أعْمَارِنَا
make righteous for us our inner selves,
وَ أصْلِحْ لَنَا خَبِيئَةَ أسْرَارِنَا
grant us Your security,
وَ أعْطِنَا مِنْكَ ٱلأمَانَ
make us enjoy perfect faith,
وَ ٱسْتَعْمِلْنَا بِحُسْنِ ٱلإِيـمَانِ
and make us catch the month of fasting
وَ بَلِّغْنَا شَهْرَ ٱلصِّيَامِ
and the days and years coming after,
وَ مَا بَعْدَهُ مِنَ ٱلأيَّامِ وَ ٱلأعْوَامِ
O Lord of Majesty and Honor!
يَا ذَا َٱلْجَلالِ وَٱلإِكْرَامِ.
